Gov. Gregoire, cabinet directors to discuss state action to address Japan tsunami debris

OLYMPIA — Gov. Chris Gregoire on Monday, June 18th, will join Major General Timothy Lowenberg, Department of Ecology Director Ted Sturdevant, and Department of Health Secretary Mary Selecky in Ocean Shores to discuss action to address debris likely from the Japan tsunami washing up on Washington beaches.

Following the press conference, the Department of Health will have staff available on the beach to demonstrate to reporters how they use Geiger counters to test debris for any radioactive contamination.
