Canadians Strike Again

I reported earlier today that South Hill resident, Jasmine Kemp, found this unfortunate vandalism in Manito Park during her afternoon walk. Apparently somebody doesn’t appreciate a sign that talks about the park’s population of ducks.

We’re not sure who is responsible for this heinous act against humanity, but some Facebook commenters on KXLY have a good idea.

Visitors Take In Japanese Garden Before Seasonal Closure

Visitors were scarce during the brisk Tuesday morning weather at the Nishinomiya Tsutakawa Japanese Garden tucked away in Manito Park. The autumn trees are in their full glory, but the end of the month marks the garden’s closure for the winter season.

Katie Drymon brought her friend Drew Sandberg to the garden for his first visit. He moved to Spokane three weeks ago from Moses Lake.

Vandals deface iconic Radio Flyer in Riverfront Park

It’s one of the most unusual incidents of graffiti seen in Riverfront Park. Last night, the iconic “Radio Flyer” red wagon was vandalized with religious messages. Crews spent the day cleaning up the mess, but the wagon won’t be the same.

“It’s very rare that we see vandalism based on religion,” Craig Butz, Riverfront Park manager, said. He continued, “This year has been worse than average. It’s going to cost us extra money.”

Anyone missing some pants?

(Updated 2:40 p.m.) - Spokane resident, Thuy-Dzuong Nguyen found some pants draped over a bridge in Riverfront Park. They’re a size 38 and overlook the Clocktower. After a little research, it turns out the pants are designer jeans by Earnest Sewn.

Maybe somebody thought it was a good 65 degree day for a swim. Hopefully the 12 mph wind from the southwest won’t ruin their fancy free pantless outing.
